SILVER GRECIAN - “THE SILVER BULLET”

12th September 2009 - The DFS Champagne Stakes GROUP 2 7f - Doncaster

Silver Grecian carrying a 3lb penalty for his previous wins, was narrowly thwart in his attempt to maintain his unbeaten record.  Silver Grecian stayed on best of all and was only 3/4 length and a head away from the winner Poet’s Voice trained by Saeed Bin Suroor, and the second Viscount Nelson trained by Aidan O’Brian.

Considering Silver Grecian did not have a lot of room at times during the race he was running on best of all.  The 2 year old colt will now head straight to the GROUP 1 Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket on 17th October 2009 where all the colts will run off the same weight.

Silver Grecian took a holiday after his last win, the Group 2 Superlative Stakes at Newmarket where he beat Emperor Claudius and Rio De Vitesse,  horses who are also confirmed runners in the Champagne Stakes on Saturday at Doncaster.  After an encouraging piece of work on Sunday with Kaolak Michael Hills was pleased to report that he felt Silver Grecian was in great shape and ready for the race. 

10th July 2009 - The Meydan Superlative Stakes GROUP 2 7f - Newmarket

Silver Grecian purchased at the Craven Breeze up sales for 16,000 Guineas landed the Group 2 Meydan Superlative Stakes at Newmarket, during the July Festival Meeting held on the July Course.  The son of Haafhd has now won his first three starts and will be given a break before heading to Doncaster for the Champagne Stakes in September, and ultimately the GROUP 1 Dewhurst Stakes back at Newmarket on 17^th October

3rd July 2009 - The Blue Square Casino Novice Auction Stakes 7f - Warwick

A confident win in his novice event.  The photo below captures Silver Grecian doing his final piece of work before his Warwick win.

20th June 2009 - Intercasino.co.uk Maiden Stakes 7f - Newmarket

Silver Grecian wins his Maiden at Newmarket.  He was prominent throughout the race and went on to win by 4 lengths.  Claiming a £10,000 Breeze up Bonus award for his three owners.
