At John Ryan Racing we are passionate about racing and want everyone to be able to experience the wonders and rewards of race horse ownership.

Visit your horse as often as you wish at our superb training facilities in Newmarket,  appointments are not necessary!

Watch your horse develop and enjoy the thrill, excitement and pride as they compete at racetracks around the UK.

A wide range of ownership options are available, some packages start from just £70 per week.

What are the costs of ownership?

• Purchase of the horse, which is split accordingly for Group or Joint Ownership arrangements.
• Monthly training fees. Discount schemes are available for payments made in advance.
• Racing expenses as necessary.

I’m interested in a more short term option?

For those who would like to experience some of the excitement that owning a racehorse can offer, but do not wish to purchase a horse outright.

Leasing contracts for specific time periods are available. For example, it is possible to “own” a horse for the day at the races.

What is owner-sponsorship?

This system allows racehorse owners to gain income through sponsorship.

Owners are able to reclaim VAT on their racing expenses, e.g. training fees, transport costs, veterinary fees, jockeys fees and even overnight stays when travelling to watch your horse run.

The owner pays a fee to the BHA (British Racehorsing Authority) which then enables them to use branding opportunities on the following items:

• Owner’s colours
• Attendants’ clothing
• Rugs and sheets

OWNERSHIP PACKAGES

How much time and money would you like to invest? Select the option that suits you.

SINGLE OWNERSHIP

As the sole owner you will be able to become intimately involved with the development of your horse and you would be expected to cover all the costs and, as a consequence, you would also receive all the profits gained.

GROUP OWNERSHIP

An ideal way for a group of friends or family (discount available for family) to become involved in this exciting sport, where the costs and profits are shared between 2 or more persons, (maximum 20). The group is able to choose the name of their horse and the racing colours. Only 2 members need to be registered as owners.

JOINT OWNERSHIP

A maximum of 12 persons where all need to be registered as owners. Separate registration is necessary for each horse within a joint ownership.

COMPANY OWNERSHIP

An impressive promotional opportunity. The horse name and racing colours can be selected to reinforce your company and it’s products.
